ROXY MUSIC Opening Night The Point Dublin June 6th - 10th, 2001
Roxy Music have always been masters of undulating rhythms, elegant arrangements, and soulful vocals, courtesy of Bryan Ferry -- who, in our opinion, is still the smoothest of operators. Roxy Music members Bryan Ferry, guitarist Phil Manzanera and saxophonist Andy Mackay are reuniting for a summer tour and Adventures in Rock will be there to celebrate opening night in Dublin, Ireland!! What a weekend--a very cool reunion in one of the hippest rock and roll cities in the world. **Please note: the show date has been changed from Friday June 8th, to Saturday June 9th Day 1 - Wednesday, June 6** Depart USA on an overnight flight to Dublin Day 2 - Thursday, June 7 "Dance Away" Upon arrival in Dublin, you will be amazed at the beauty of our five-star hotel--intimate-luxury accommodations combined with cutting edge design. You'll have some time to rest and relax or explore Stephen's Green, Grafton Street and Temple Bar. This evening, we'll meet in the hotel lobby for a short stroll to dinner at a very rock and roll restaurant. We'll enjoy a delicious meal and a review of the brilliant artwork the restaurant has to offer. You'll be receiving a gig guide outlining what's on in Dublin for the next few days so you can decide where you'd like to raise the roof tonight. Failing that, the buskers on Grafton Street always have the most amazing repertoires!! Day 3 - Friday, June 8 "Do the Strand" Today we head to the Irish coastline and Dublin Mountains to take in the beautiful vistas, fresh sea air and maybe a few pints of some of the best Guinness you'll ever taste! Day 4 - Saturday, June 9 "Love is the Drug" Late morning, we explore the city of Dublin on foot - specifically it's rock and roll landmarks. We'll see Windmill Lane Studios, the Hot Press Music Hall of Fame, and check out the infamous Rock and Stroll tour of Dublin. Then rest up for tonight--the excitement builds as we head for the opening night of the Roxy Music reunion tour. Expect a star studded audience as well as VIP seats and amenities. Day 5 - Sunday, June 10 "Both Ends Burning" Services end after breakfast.
